Developing and maintaining a robust and effective internal audit system provides meaningful and actionable improvements for your food safety and food quality processes. Course attendees will gain knowledge in developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective internal audit program.  They will also learn how to determine the best audit methods and proper management techniques for creating an effective and efficient internal audit system.  This course is designed for individuals who are responsible for developing and maintaining internal audit systems.

Karissa Vaughn is an Auditor with Mérieux NutriSciences Certification, LLC. She specializes in auditing the following SQF food sectors: quality, sector 8 (processing of manufactured meats & poultry), sector 10 (dairy food processing), sector 19 (food ingredient manufacturing), and sector 26 (food storage and distribution). In her 15 years in the food industry, Karissa has also held roles as Sr. Manager of Plant Quality Assurance, Quality Assurance Manager, Mix Processing Supervisor, and Quality Assurance Associate Supervisor/Leadman/Lab Tech. She holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Dairy Production and Dairy Manufacturing from South Dakota State University.
